Mr Matthew Tutton MS FRCS
Laparoscopic and General Surgeon
Matthew Tutton is a consultant general surgeon with a subspecialist interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and endoscopy. He is one of the specialised laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeons at the renowned
ICENI laparoscopic surgery centre at Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust.
Matthew Tutton graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, London in 1995. He obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998 before undertaking 2 years of research for a Master of Surgery Thesis into colorectal cancer at the Institute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden Hospital. He underwent higher surgical training at a range of London hospitals with extensive specialisation in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery. Prior to commencing as a consultant surgeon at Colchester University Hospital in 2006 he undertook a travelling fellowship to the Mayo clinic in Rochester, the University of Minnesota, and the Weill Cornell Hospital in New York, USA.
